Dr. Tarun Mittal is one of India's leading Laparoscopic, Bariatric and Robotic Surgeons with extensive expertise in advanced gastrointestinal, colorectal, hernia and metabolic surgery. He is currently serving as Vice Chairman, Unit Head and Senior Consultant in the Department of Laparoscopic, Laser & General Surgery at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi.
He has undergone advanced surgical training and holds Fellowships in Minimal Access Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, Bariatric Surgery and Robotic Surgery. He is a Fellow of the National Board (FNB), Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Fellow of the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons (FIAGES), Fellow of the Association of Surgeons of India (FAIS) and has earned multiple prestigious national and international certifications in advanced minimally invasive surgery.
An active academician and surgical educator, Dr. Mittal currently serves as Governing Council Member of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), Convener and Member of the National Board of Examinations (NBE), Country Lead of SEPA, Vice President of North Zone SELSI and Convener of IAGES FALS Hernia Board. He has authored more than 30 national and international publications, serves as a reviewer for leading surgical journals and has guided numerous DNB theses. He has also organized several national conferences and fellowship courses in minimally invasive surgery, bariatric surgery and colorectal surgery namely MARSCON 2012, SURGICON 2015, ASICON CME 2017, SELSICON 2019, FALS Colorectal 2022, FALS, Bariatric 2023, FIAGES 2024, FALS Hernia 2025, IAGES 2027. His areas of expertise include robotic gastrointestinal surgery, bariatric and metabolic surgery, colorectal surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction and advanced laparoscopic procedures.
