I completed my basic training in general surgery and allied specialties at LLRM Medical College, Meerut between July 1992 to Aug 1995. During three years of my training I was exposed to hospital care, diagnosis of surgical patients, assisted and performed under supervision all general surgical procedures. This exposure has helped me to develop a good clinical technique in general and allied surgical specialties. After completing my master’s degree in General Surgery, I have received dedicated training in Vascular, Endovascular and Thoracic Surgery for four years (1st January 1996 – 31st December 1999) at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. I have been working in a busy department in Vascular & Endovascular Surgery at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, A 700 bedded multi specialty hospital for last twenty nine (29) years. We are performing 250-300 major surgical and endovascular revascularisation procedures in a typical working month. Even though awareness towards vascular disease is less than optimal in India. We are a high volume tertiary referral centre for vascular problems. I have performed surgery for abdominal aortic aneurysm, Carotid endarterectomies, Aorto iliac and femoro distal bypass procedures. In keeping with the norms of evidence based practice, I have been regularly collecting data and auditing our work for the last few years. This experience of angiographic evaluation and surgery has helped me to develop a thorough understanding of Vascular pathology. I was selected for the VSI for the St. Mary’s Inter Vascular Fellowship for the year 2005, I have worked with Mr. JHN Wolfe, Leading clinician at regional vascular unit, St. Mary’s Hospital, London. I am performing endovascular repair of thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysm, endovascular revascularisation of upper limb and lower limb arteries to prevent gangrene. Active management of deep vein thrombosis for disolution of clot and laser treatment of varicose veins. Performing regularly surgery to prevent amputation in diabetic foot and AV fistula creation of hemodialysis.
