Chief Guest Dr. D.S. Rana was accompanied by Mr. Ashok Chandra (Chairman,Trust Society), Dr.S.P. Byotra, Dr.Ajay Swaroop, Dr. Suchita Katoch and Dr. A.K.Bhalla. Rana threw light on the importance of balanced diet and exercise in our life. The session was attended by 80 children from various NGO’s and around 40 volunteers. The message conveyed by the excellent documentary and the skit prepared and presented by the Dietetics department was appreciated and applauded by one and all. The exhibition on the importance of Food and Nutrition was an eye opener and reflected the nuances of nutrition which are otherwise ignored in our daily life. Jam packed Auditorium on all the three days was a virtual treat to the organisers as the objective of the concept was well met and perceived by the audience which was enriched by the series of talks ,discussions, entertainment, an exposition etc. Nutrition tree adorned with the pledges and messages conveyed determination of the audience to make right food choices and to observe Food Safety Standards. The three day workshop has not ended, it has sent a strong message to the people to be their own decision makers as far as nutrition is concerned. We talk about personal hygiene which is an individual’s responsibility similarly personal nutrition is one’s own responsibility. Therefore, there is no target group so as to say who can take the responsibility of personal nutrition. In today’s tech savvy world if a one and half year old can run a computer or an i pad then it’s the best to inculcate the Right Food Choices too at an early age as these are the formative years and habits formed at this tender age can go a long way. This was the objective of the Nutrition week which culminated with Felicitations to all participants by Dr. A. K. Bhalla.

We thank all the Departments of SGRH for the utmost co-operation in making this event a Grand Success!

Programme Directors: Dr. Latika Bhalla, Ms. Seema Bali, Ms. Mukta Vasisht, Ms. Vandana, Ms. Charu.
