The Department of Pediatric Surgery, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, successfully commemorated Pediatric Surgery Day on 29 December 2025, marking a meaningful day dedicated to child-centric surgical care and public awareness.

Celebrated under the national theme “Safe Surgery for Every Child – Pediatric Surgeons Make It Possible!”, the event highlighted the vital role of pediatric surgeons in delivering safe, specialised care from infancy to adolescence.

The occasion was honoured by the presence of esteemed Chief Guests Dr. D. S. Rana, Dr. A. K. Bhalla, Dr. Jayashree Sood, Dr. S. P. Byotra, and Dr. Satish Saluja, HOD Neonatology & Sub-Dean, GRIPMER, reflecting the hospital’s collective commitment to excellence in child healthcare.

The programme was led by the faculty of the Department of Pediatric Surgery — Dr. Satish Kumar Aggarwal, Chairperson & Senior Consultant; Dr. Alpana Prasad, Senior Consultant & Vice Chairperson; and Dr. Rajeev Kulshreshtha, Senior Consultant & Advisor — along with the senior faculty of the Institute of Child Health.

A series of engaging activities including poster and quiz competitions, parent awareness talks, interactive Q&A sessions, and child-friendly events such as a magic show and tattoo art created a warm, inclusive environment while reinforcing awareness about pediatric surgical conditions and timely intervention.
