Gut to Globe: Nutrition that Heals

As part of Poshan Maah 2026, the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, hosted a scientific symposium on 8 September 2026, bringing together clinicians, dietitians, students, nursing staff and delegates from medical institutions across Delhi NCR.

The event explored nutrition beyond calories and nutrients—from the gut microbiome, mental health and childhood development to environmental health, sustainable diets and planetary well-being.

The programme began with “Yoga for Sustainable Health”, followed by insightful scientific sessions, expert panel discussions and an engaging ICMR Guidelines Exhibition featuring educational displays, healthy recipes, innovative food models and practical nutrition solutions.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Dr. (Prof.) D.S. Rana, Chairman, Sir Ganga Ram Trust Society, and Guest of Honour Dr. Ajay Swaroop, Chairman, Board of Management, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, along with Dr. Komal Chauhan, Director – CFRA, Head – CEFF, NIFTEM, and other dignitaries from the Board of Trust and Management, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.

The event also featured valuable contributions from Ms. Charu Sadana, Ms. Vandana Verma, Dr. Latika Bhalla, Dr. Chintamani, Dr. Naresh Bansal, Ms. Jhanvi, Dr. Tanvi Batra, and Ms. Megha Puri, alongside the entire Department of Nutrition & Dietetics team.

From gut health to global health, the symposium reinforced a powerful message: nutrition can be a pathway to healthier people, healthier communities and a healthier planet.
